How to Earn Professional Development (PD) Hours

Some sessions in the event may be eligible for Professional Development (PD) Hours.

Eligible sessions can be identified by the diploma icon, credit duration, and PD label shown on the session listing. These appear in sessions that have PD credit hours assigned.

How you earn credit depends on how the event planner has set up PD Hours:

  • If the event uses Signed-Up Sessions
    You will automatically receive PD credit when you add a session to your schedule. If no diploma icon, credit duration, or PD label appears on the session listing, the event planner may have chosen Signed-Up Sessions, or PD Hours may not be set up for the event. Contact the event planner to confirm whether the event offers PD credit for all sessions.
  • If the event uses Verified Attendance Check-In
    You must check into an eligible session to receive PD credit. Simply adding the session to your schedule will not award credit. You will earn credit only for sessions that have PD credit hours assigned and that you checked into.

Your attendance may be verified through one of the event’s supported check-in methods, such as:

    •  Scanning the session QR code
    •  Using Self Check-In
    •  Being checked in from the web by the event planner or Check-In Manager
    •  Being checked in using the Sched Count app by the event planner or Check-In Manager

Sessions in the event may be eligible for Professional Development (PD) Hours, depending on how the event planner has set up PD credit.

How to Check Your PD Credits in Your Profile

You can view your PD credits on either the web or in the app.

  • On the web:
    Go to My Profile and look for your PD credits next to Overview.
  • In the app:
    Go to My Account and tap the PD.

Note: PD credit may not appear right away after you add a PD-eligible session or check in to one. Credit appears after the event planner runs a calculation in the PD Hours tab. In some events, calculations may also run automatically after the last session on the final day of the event.
