Guest checkout allows attendees to register for tickets without creating a full Sched account. This option can also be used when the purchaser is not attending but is buying tickets for others and does not have a Sched account.
During guest checkout, the purchaser can:
-
Buy a ticket for themselves.
-
Assign tickets to others.
-
Or only assign tickets to others without registering themselves.
When It Works
Guest checkout is available when:
-
The registration form is enabled in your event settings.
-
If the registration page is visible – Attendees can guest check out directly from the registration page.
-
If the registration page is hidden – Attendees can start guest checkout by clicking the Reserve Ticket button:
- The button always appears on your event’s landing page (the page you set in settings).
- If the Schedule tab is visible, the button appears there as well.
Enabling Guest Checkout
To allow attendees to register as guests, follow these steps:
-
Toggle ON the “Enable Registration Form”
Location: Sched Control Panel → Registration Tab → Payments → Settings
Once enabled:
-
Guest Checkout becomes active for your event.
-
Attendees can purchase tickets through the registration page even if:
-
Sessions are unpublished.
-
The Schedule tab is hidden.
-
The registration page is hidden – In this case, they can still purchase by clicking the Reserve Ticket button on the landing page you set (and on the Schedule tab, if visible).
-
Unassigned Tickets
If a guest checkout purchaser doesn’t assign tickets immediately, those tickets will be marked as Unassigned.
You can find them in two places:
-
Reports tab → Tickets Report – Shows detailed information, including the purchaser’s name and the type of ticket they purchased.
-
Tickets tab → Registration Tab → Tickets – Shows only the number of unassigned tickets for each ticket type. To see full details, use the Reports tab.
Important:
Unassigned tickets only apply if:
- The purchaser is not attending, and
- They have not assigned tickets to anyone.
If the purchaser selected “I’m attending this event” during checkout but didn’t assign any tickets, those tickets will remain under their profile and will not be marked as unassigned. You can view them in the regular reports: Attendees w/ a Ticket report and Ticket Holders list.
What the Attendee Sees:
-
The attendee goes to the registration page.
-
If the registration page is hidden – They can click the Reserve button on:
-
-
The Schedule tab (if visible), or
-
Your event’s landing page (if the Schedule tab is hidden).
-
-
-
After selecting a ticket, they are prompted to either:
-
Log in, or
-
Continue as Guest.
-
-
If they choose Continue as Guest, they enter their name and email address.
-
A confirmation email is sent to the email address provided. It includes:
-
A link to manage the tickets and assign them later, or
-
An option to assign the ticket immediately.
